Korean boy band INFINITE’s member Sung Yeol will go to the Caribbean Sea for his first TV variety show.
Sung Yeol has been cast in the ninth season of SBS’s popular reality show “The Law of the Jungle in Belize,” an official with his agency Woollim Entertainment told TenAsia over the phone Tuesday.
“Sung Yeol is set to leave for Belize [in Central America] at noon next Friday [Korea time] and will come back on July 10. He is now readying for his stay in the jungle and the TV show,” an Woollim official explained.
The 21-year-old idol star will serve as a co-star to the show’s iconic hosts comedians Kim Byung-man, No Woo-jin, Ryu Dam as well as new celebrity guests – actor Kim Sung-soo, actress Cho Yeo-jeong and singer-actor Oh Jong-hyuk , whose stage name is OJ.
Although an official with SBS refused to disclose the detailed broadcasting schedule of the upcoming show, Sung Yeol’s jungle experience is likely to air no later than October considering the previous seasons’ schedules.
Sung Yeol, a member of INFINITE, one of the most sought-after boy bands in the K-pop scene since their debut in 2010, built his presence as an actor last year with his high school boy role in SBS drama “While You Were Sleeping”.
